After daylight savings this past weekend and all of the beautiful sunshine we have had recently in Vancouver, I am feeling ready for some warmer weather! So, what better to time to start thinking about those pieces in your wardrobe that you can easily transition from winter into spring, like a faux fur jacket!
Since spring temperatures are not the same for everyone, some of you will find that you can do away with those heavier pieces in your closet a bit sooner than others. For most of us, it is time to hibernate your parkas and make use of those more transitional pieces in your closet.
Vancouver can have a chilly spring, so one of the pieces that I know I will be reaching for time and time again this season is a faux fur jacket. What I love so much about a faux fur jacket is how easily it can dress up your outfit. Antoine and I were running errands prior to snapping this look and I felt so chic and special with my faux fur jacket thrown on over a cozy knit and ripped jeans. My outfit would have been your typical look for running errands, but I love the touch of class a faux fur jacket can really add to your overall outfit. This is what makes it such a great transitional piece come spring. It is also perfect for layering, which I know a lot of us will find ourselves doing with spring just a mere week away. I can hardly believe it!
For this casual chic look, I have layered my faux fur jacket over a warm and cozy knit. Once the temperatures rise, I will be packing away my warmer sweaters and reaching for thinner layers like a light weight knit, blouse or ever a lace camisole. A faux fur jacket is also so dressy over a beautiful dress or skirt, which is one of my favourite ways to wear it! If you have a spring barbecue, brunch date, event to go to, or even a date night, you honestly cannot go wrong with a fluffy faux fur jacket. You instantly will look chic, stylish and put together, making it one of my very favourite pieces that you can easily transition from winter into spring.
I’ve linked lots of gorgeous faux fur jackets that you can easily wear this spring below!
In my previous post, I have also styled a faux fur jacket that you can easily transition into spring as well! The link to the post is here!
Hello my lovelies! So not the best start to the new year, as this is only my second blog post for 2018! I told myself that I was going to try to come out with a blog post at least once weekly, but life has just got in the way!
So diving right in with my life update and then I will get to the details of this swoon worthy spring outfit later in the post!
January seems like a bit of a blur really and my mind seemed a bit distracted after a tragedy occurred onboard one of my flights. I rarely talk about work on the blog, which is funny given I call my blog ‘The Flightalista,’ but honestly it was the most difficult experience I have ever encountered in my work life. Last month I celebrated my 7 year Flight Attendant anniversary, and I can hardly believe it has been that long. Time has literally flown by. In April of 2017 I trained to become a Service Director, which means I am the one in charge on board. Thank goodness on our longer haul flights there are two Service Director’s and I was lucky enough to have one of my fellow classmates as one of them to help deal with the tragedy. An elderly lady passed away, and despite our training and years of experience, nothing can really prepare you for how it will affect you and make you feel. I didn’t take any time away from work after the occurrence, but it has definitely stuck with me and is on my mind every single time I go to work now.
February I worked literally everyday except one until the 14th. I was exhausted both physically, and mentally, and I also had an evaluation which was slightly traumatic to top it all off. This lady has a mortgage to pay! The thought of losing my job or being demoted rather is slightly hard to digest, as I take a lot of pride in my role and I truly do love my job. Luckily all went well and I am able to continue to be a Service Director and do what I love.
Antoine and I shared a perfect Valentine’s Day evening together. He brought me home a beautiful bouquet of red roses and the most delicious bottle of sparking rosé. We popped open the rosé, shared a glass together and then went out to our favourite sushi restaurant for dinner. It was absolutely perfect and just what I wanted.
On February 16th we jetted off for a week away to France to visit with Antoine’s friends and family. In case you didn’t know, my main squeeze is a handsome frenchman and we have been together for a little over 5 years now. I can think of a lot worse places to have to vacation, so I am quite lucky that France gets to be it! Of course when we arrived home we had both caught a cold and have been under the weather for the past week.
So here we are, back home in cloudy, rainy and occasionally sunny Vancouver. This past weekend was lovely. The sun was shining and it was the perfect opportunity to shoot a few looks. We must take advantage when the sun shines in Vancouver, it could be quite literally months before we see it again!
Where to start with this dreamy look! Ok I will start with my beautiful blush suede Steve Madden boots. To say I am in love is an understatement! I am trying to incorporate a bit of colour and warmer hues into my wardrobe. Since it will be still quite cool here almost right up until July, yes you heard that right, July! So, I felt these boots were absolutely perfect for spring. I paired them with jeans and a grey body suit because I wanted my boots to do the talking. They truly make a statement with their subtle beauty and are more comfortable to wear than I could have imagined.
This fluffy white coat is a last years purchase which I have got a lot of wear out of. I don’t know why I hesitated on purchasing it because it really is a casual chic piece and best of all it is super cozy and warm. I find myself reaching for it time and time again.
These are my very first pair of boyfriend jeans. I snapped them up from H&M and am so glad I did because I find myself drawn to them on my days off. I love that they are not fitted, but are still slimming, figure flattering and are so much more appropriate than running around in lounge wear.
My grey bodysuit is from Garage Clothing and is it almost like a henley meet bodysuit. It couldn’t be more comfortable! The neckline is flattering and the material is so so soft. I should have bought it in blush as well, I love it that much! Underneath I am wearing the ever so popular Free People bralette. The detailing is exquisite and so beautiful for spring. I ordered a size small which I based off of the size guide, but could have sized down to an extra small. If your girls are anything like mine, then sizing down might be a better option for you!
I recently discovered the brand Milk Makeup and this is their Milk Makeup Blur Stick that I am holding in my hand. It really does blur those imperfections on my face, while illuminating my skin at the same time. The texture is almost like a silky butter and it literally glides on over my skin. Best of all is doesn’t cause any sensitivity, which is something I look for when trying out new beauty and skin care products. I have also been trying out a few new hair and beauty products, so please let me know if you would like to see more of these in a future post! I have linked a few of the products that I am currently loving above!
So there you have it! I will be sharing a few glimpses of my latest trip to France and possibly a home improvement project on the blog!
If you have stuck around until the end, I so appreciate it! As always, I would love to hear your comments!
