Who said that you have to wait until your wedding day to wear white?

I love the fresh look a white dress brings to your spring and summer wardrobe. If you are a neutral wearing girl like me, then this stunning eyelet midi from Zara is an absolute showstopper and a must have for summer.

This white eyelet midi has the most beautiful intricate detailing across the neckline which is very reminiscent to dresses we see from the brand Self Portrait. I I adore the subtle buttons down the front and the dainty spaghetti straps which attract attention to your décolletage and shoulders. The ‘A’ line style of the dress really helps to give you a defined waist, creating an elegant and ladylike silhouette. The floral eyelet pattern running through the dress accompanied by the fullness of the skirt, really does portray an ultra feminine feel. Eyelet patterns have been popping up across so many different brands this past spring and is still very much a trend we are seeing for Summer 2018. I love the timelessness of eyelet. It is one of the trends that you can confidently invest in as it will never go out of style. I was thrilled to see this pattern in a midi style dress as the midi dress and skirt have really taken storm for spring and summer of this year. It really is the year of the midi, and as you can see, it is a style that can both accentuate and compliment any body type.

I feel like the ‘midi’ is a style that is both overlooked and underestimated. If chosen wisely, it can do absolute wonders for your figure. If chosen or styled incorrectly, in can look frumpy or matronly. What you may not realize however, is that the midi really is your every day ‘lazy girl’ dress which couldn’t make it more perfect or practical for summer! On those super hot humid days when you are not feeling your tip top self and don’t want to put much time or thought into your outfit, this is when you turn to your midi. It may look like like I put a lot of effort into this look, but I really didn’t. I used my hair straightener which is the best ‘lazy girl’ hack for curling your hair. I threw on a pair of double stud statement earrings, a circular dainty necklace and my ever so versatile Fossil watch which goes with just about any outfit. I paired it with an understated matte nude clutch from Aldo, and my favourite Valentino dupe nude rock stud heels from Sole Society, which are the most comfortable pair of heels I own, might I add! My two-tone sunnies from Nordstrom add a more laid back feel to the overall look making this white eyelet dress so versatile for many occasions.

Now I would not recommend wearing this outfit to a wedding. You definitely do not want to be seen in white, as you do not want take away from the bride on her special day! This outfit would be perfect for a birthday party, baby shower, a patio party, a high tea, a special event you may be attending, brunch among girl friends or date night with that special someone. I recently wore this dress on my birthday and I really felt like the belle of the ball!

Now that it is finally spring, I am so eager to stash away my heavy coats and snow boots and make way for exposed legs and stylish skirts! It was the absolute most gorgeous day when I shot this look, and as you can see by my ghost white legs, they have been crying for some sunlight If luck will have it, I am hoping my parkas can remain tucked away for the season, and will not need to make a reappearance until November!

From the softest faux suede fabric, to the button details down the front, to the gorgeous blush colour, this skirt is the perfect transitional piece to have in your spring wardrobe. I paired it with a casual, oversized, camel heavy knit sweater that I picked up towards the end of January. Pairing your skirts with a cozy knit, a fluffy coat, a moto jacket, a trench coat or even a wool coat at the beginning of spring makes having your legs exposed that much more bearable. If you are warmer on top, the cold won’t bother your legs so much. This way, you can still wear the trends and feel like it’s spring without completely freezing to death!

The muted blush pairs exceptionally well with other neutral colours. If you have a tendency to wear more white, creams, greys and blacks, then the blush is the perfect pop of spring to add to your look. I also love the colour combination of the blush and camel tones, they compliment each other beautifully which makes it a nice transitional outfit that you can wear again from summer into autumn. The button down details are eye catching, yet the skirt is still so versatile. You could pair it with a pretty white blouse and nude heels for a more feminine and girly look, or more casually with a oversized sweater and over the knee boots.

If I haven’t completely convinced you on how to balance having your legs exposed as you are feeling it is still far too cold outside, then pair your skirt with over the knee boots instead of a heel. This will give your legs an added touch of warmth, but won’t take away from your adorable skirt or the spring outfit you are trying to achieve.

These heels are by far the dreamiest pair of shoes in my collection. From the shiny gold rock stud hardware, to the nude patent toe, and a comfort level that I would not have imagined. I was willing to sacrifice comfort to have these gorgeous shoes in my life, but I was so pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are to wear and how stable I feel walking in them. They are shockingly not Valentino’s, but rather an amazing dupe at a much more affordable price. Real Valentino’s will run you well over $900 and these beauties are under $70 USD. They also come in a black patent toe, again with the gold hardware and nude real leather straps, which I think would be equally gorgeous for the autumn and winter months. I am so tempted to grab hold of the black pair as well, as they really are a classic and timeless piece. The nude is gorgeous for spring and summer, and can easily be styled year round.

I am absolutely loving how on trend blush is this season, and what a perfect way to brighten up your wardrobe as we transition out of winter. What I like to do as winter draws to a close is take a look into my wardrobe at some of my winter basics. Since it will still be quite cool here for the next few months, I am looking for those key pieces that I can build my spring wardrobe around. Neutral toned knitwear, tops, denim and trousers are the best staples and create a great foundation where you can then incorporate some of those spring trends.

I think it is so easy to get completely caught up in a trend, when in reality, we have no way of knowing how long the trend will last, which leaves me to wonder if it really is the most wise way to spend my money. It is so important to think about price per wear. How much am I really going to wear this item? This is where spending a little bit more on those classic pieces you can wear almost year round would make the most sense, and something I need to do a little more of! One of the nice things about pastels is that they never really seem to go out of style. They continue to come back year after year which makes them a classic addition to your wardrobe.

Some years certain trends do absolutely nothing for me, which is quite possibly why I am loving the the pretty hues of blush and pink. In this case, if you find a trend that seems a bit timeless and really speaks to you, then I see no harm in spending a little more than you typically would on refreshing your wardrobe.

I just found my gorgeous blush moto jacket on sale for 50% off! It comes in a few other colours such as grey and navy blue. I have also linked some similar styles below, from a few other retailers.

My very first YouTube video just went live on my channel! If you are loving the blush trend as much as I am, then you won’t want to miss it!

I hope you have found this post helpful, and that I have given you some ideas on how you can transition your wardrobe into spring! Please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know what trends you are loving for spring!

After daylight savings this past weekend and all of the beautiful sunshine we have had recently in Vancouver, I am feeling ready for some warmer weather! So, what better to time to start thinking about those pieces in your wardrobe that you can easily transition from winter into spring, like a faux fur jacket!Spring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfitSpring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfitSpring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfitSpring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfitSpring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfitSpring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfitSpring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfitSpring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfitSpring Style, Spring Fashion, Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring, black faux fur jacket, pink bag, pink purse, pompom sneakers, spring outfit

Since spring temperatures are not the same for everyone, some of you will find that you can do away with those heavier pieces in your closet a bit sooner than others. For most of us, it is time to hibernate your parkas and make use of those more transitional pieces in your closet.

Vancouver can have a chilly spring, so one of the pieces that I know I will be reaching for time and time again this season is a faux fur jacket. What I love so much about a faux fur jacket is how easily it can dress up your outfit. Antoine and I were running errands prior to snapping this look and I felt so chic and special with my faux fur jacket thrown on over a cozy knit and ripped jeans. My outfit would have been your typical look for running errands, but I love the touch of class a faux fur jacket can really add to your overall outfit. This is what makes it such a great transitional piece come spring. It is also perfect for layering, which I know a lot of us will find ourselves doing with spring just a mere week away. I can hardly believe it!

For this casual chic look, I have layered my faux fur jacket over a warm and cozy knit. Once the temperatures rise, I will be packing away my warmer sweaters and reaching for thinner layers like a light weight knit, blouse or ever a lace camisole. A faux fur jacket is also so dressy over a beautiful dress or skirt, which is one of my favourite ways to wear it! If you have a spring barbecue, brunch date, event to go to, or even a date night, you honestly cannot go wrong with a fluffy faux fur jacket. You instantly will look chic, stylish and put together, making it one of my very favourite pieces that you can easily transition from winter into spring.

I’ve linked lots of gorgeous faux fur jackets that you can easily wear this spring below!

In my previous post, I have also styled a faux fur jacket that you can easily transition into spring as well! The link to the post is here!

Hello my lovelies! So not the best start to the new year, as this is only my second blog post for 2018! I told myself that I was going to try to come out with a blog post at least once weekly, but life has just got in the way!

So diving right in with my life update and then I will get to the details of this swoon worthy spring outfit later in the post!

January seems like a bit of a blur really and my mind seemed a bit distracted after a tragedy occurred onboard one of my flights. I rarely talk about work on the blog, which is funny given I call my blog ‘The Flightalista,’ but honestly it was the most difficult experience I have ever encountered in my work life. Last month I celebrated my 7 year Flight Attendant anniversary, and I can hardly believe it has been that long. Time has literally flown by. In April of 2017 I trained to become a Service Director, which means I am the one in charge on board. Thank goodness on our longer haul flights there are two Service Director’s and I was lucky enough to have one of my fellow classmates as one of them to help deal with the tragedy. An elderly lady passed away, and despite our training and years of experience, nothing can really prepare you for how it will affect you and make you feel. I didn’t take any time away from work after the occurrence, but it has definitely stuck with me and is on my mind every single time I go to work now.

February I worked literally everyday except one until the 14th. I was exhausted both physically, and mentally, and I also had an evaluation which was slightly traumatic to top it all off. This lady has a mortgage to pay! The thought of losing my job or being demoted rather is slightly hard to digest, as I take a lot of pride in my role and I truly do love my job. Luckily all went well and I am able to continue to be a Service Director and do what I love.

Antoine and I shared a perfect Valentine’s Day evening together. He brought me home a beautiful bouquet of red roses and the most delicious bottle of sparking rosé. We popped open the rosé, shared a glass together and then went out to our favourite sushi restaurant for dinner. It was absolutely perfect and just what I wanted.

On February 16th we jetted off for a week away to France to visit with Antoine’s friends and family. In case you didn’t know, my main squeeze is a handsome frenchman and we have been together for a little over 5 years now. I can think of a lot worse places to have to vacation, so I am quite lucky that France gets to be it! Of course when we arrived home we had both caught a cold and have been under the weather for the past week.

So here we are, back home in cloudy, rainy and occasionally sunny Vancouver. This past weekend was lovely. The sun was shining and it was the perfect opportunity to shoot a few looks. We must take advantage when the sun shines in Vancouver, it could be quite literally months before we see it again!

Where to start with this dreamy look! Ok I will start with my beautiful blush suede Steve Madden boots. To say I am in love is an understatement! I am trying to incorporate a bit of colour and warmer hues into my wardrobe. Since it will be still quite cool here almost right up until July, yes you heard that right, July! So, I felt these boots were absolutely perfect for spring. I paired them with jeans and a grey body suit because I wanted my boots to do the talking. They truly make a statement with their subtle beauty and are more comfortable to wear than I could have imagined.

This fluffy white coat is a last years purchase which I have got a lot of wear out of. I don’t know why I hesitated on purchasing it because it really is a casual chic piece and best of all it is super cozy and warm. I find myself reaching for it time and time again.

These are my very first pair of boyfriend jeans. I snapped them up from H&M and am so glad I did because I find myself drawn to them on my days off. I love that they are not fitted, but are still slimming, figure flattering and are so much more appropriate than running around in lounge wear.

My grey bodysuit is from Garage Clothing and is it almost like a henley meet bodysuit. It couldn’t be more comfortable! The neckline is flattering and the material is so so soft. I should have bought it in blush as well, I love it that much! Underneath I am wearing the ever so popular Free People bralette. The detailing is exquisite and so beautiful for spring. I ordered a size small which I based off of the size guide, but could have sized down to an extra small. If your girls are anything like mine, then sizing down might be a better option for you!

I recently discovered the brand Milk Makeup and this is their Milk Makeup Blur Stick that I am holding in my hand. It really does blur those imperfections on my face, while illuminating my skin at the same time. The texture is almost like a silky butter and it literally glides on over my skin. Best of all is doesn’t cause any sensitivity, which is something I look for when trying out new beauty and skin care products. I have also been trying out a few new hair and beauty products, so please let me know if you would like to see more of these in a future post! I have linked a few of the products that I am currently loving above!

So there you have it! I will be sharing a few glimpses of my latest trip to France and possibly a home improvement project on the blog!

If you have stuck around until the end, I so appreciate it! As always, I would love to hear your comments!
