I’m rounding up my favourite outfits from my trip to Italy this summer! I thought long and hard about what to pack, and each of my outfits were methodically planned out taking into consideration the weather and city I was traveling to! Honestly, I have never put THAT much thought into what I wanted to wear on vacation. Of course knew I wanted to look cute, but when you are running around sightseeing for hours on end it’s important to be practical! One thing I like to keep in mind while planning my outfits for traveling is I don’t want to look like a complete tacky tourist, but I do want to be comfortable!
How cute is this hat?! Everything pompom is really on trend at the moment! I had been after a boater hat for a while, so when I stumbled across a boater hat with pompom detailing, I couldn’t believe my luck! I was so excited to wear this hat around Italy. It was the perfect choice and I HIGHLY recommend always bringing a hat. It kept the sun off my face and my head cool which is honestly so important when you are traveling. Nothing like potentially getting heat stroke to put a damper on things! So pack a hat!

I fell in love with this flower print maxi when I first saw it. The colours of the floral detailing just screamed Italy to me, so I knew I wasn’t leaving the store without it! I thought the pretty tones of pink, red, yellow and orange would match perfectly with the venetian architecture. Nothing like blending in with your surroundings, and still making a statement!
A maxi dress is definitely your friend when traveling, and especially in Italy. If you are planning on touring any churches, then you will need to be covered up. it is SO important to be dress modestly and respectfully. Throw on a jean jacket or light sweater to keep your shoulders covered, and you are church going ready!

After a long day of train travel, I wanted nothing more than to throw on something familiar and comfy. I have had these denim cutoffs for a few years now, and they are my go to. You can never go wrong with a great pair of denim shorts. They hold up well, are super comfortable and they are the best for running around in. I love light weight sweaters for summer. Ok I love sweaters in general, but they can be hard to come by in the summer months. I always bring a sweater for the plane, but it doubles as the perfect sweater on a cool summer night! I paired this look with a super soft black bodysuit from Forever21.

The morning we woke on Lake Como was overcast. I was so happy I threw these ripped denim in at the last minute. I have literally shopped around for MONTHS looking for a pair of black ripped jeans and was so excited when I finally found the perfect pair. They are a really soft denim, and they fit like a glove. I’m wearing a size 25 and I have linked the exact pair!
I always travel with a pair of jeans in my suitcase. On the flight over to Italy, I wore a pair of plain black denim with no rips. Since we can’t always predict the weather, you never know when a pair of your favourite jeans might come to the rescue, and you will be so happy you threw them in at the last minute!

You know when you spot the cutest skirt, but you aren’t sure if it will look as cute on? That’s how I felt about this one! Thankfully it looks as cute as it did on the rack, which was such a pleasant surprise! I love how it is a bit high waisted and figure flattering! Plus it was under $20! I would be lying to you if I said I didn’t pick this skirt specifically for Lake Como. For some reason, this skirt was giving me some serious boating vibes and I think it was perfect for an easy breezy day on the lake!
I’ve been embracing the off the shoulder trend with this black bodysuit, and how adorable are the ruffle sleeves?! If it weren’t for the fact that we were sightseeing day in and day out, I would have totally dressed this look up with a pair of wedges!

This boho style top has the cutest tassel details on the sides. I was immediately drawn to the colour, though I thought it a bit daring for my usual style. Oh, I should tell you that I’m not wearing a bra! It was so freakin hot that I thought I was going to melt. When my mom suggested going braless, my initial reaction was ‘I don’t think so’, but because of the higher neckline and the embroidery across the front, I think the braless look works. I had been waiting for an opportunity to rock these floral print shorts, and knew Tuscany would be the perfect spot. They are lightweight, super comfy and it’s always fun to contrast your look with textures and prints. This was the perfect outfit not only to beat the heat, but I absolutely loved how it matched the terracotta and rustic hues of the medieval architecture of Siena.

This romper is my absolute FAVOURITE colour blue! I’m obsessed. I purchased this romper before I knew I would be traveling to Italy, but when my mom and I put together our itinerary, there was no question that I would be romping around in it on the island of Capri. The neckline is so flattering and I adore the eyelet details. Eyelet fabric is so gorgeous for spring and summer, and it’s a great alternative to wearing lace. It is also available in white and linked below!

This black off the shoulder dress I ended up wearing twice during my trip. I wore it the day we arrived in Venice, so it was still in good shape for touring the Amalfi Coast. I’ll be honest, I had packed another dress that I really wanted to wear, but I forgot that I needed to be in heels to prevent it from dragging along, which I was NOT doing! What I love about a black off the shoulder dress, is not only will it be on repeat all summer long, but it’s super easy to style and doesn’t take away from the gorgeous landscape and architecture. The buildings of Amalfi and Positano are brightly coloured and so beautiful to look at, that I wanted them to stand out in the photos, not just what I was wearing!
I would love to hear about your upcoming travels and adventures! If you have any questions about the looks you’ve seen or what to pack for your next trip, please feel free to leave a comment!
