I know what you’re thinking, why is she blogging about styling a black longline bomber for spring? Have you heard the quote “Women who wear black lead colourful lives” by Neiman Marcus? This would be why. For one, I love neutrals and black in particular. It is sleek, figure flattering, classic, elegant and looks good on everyone. In all honesty, more than half my wardrobe is black! Nothing against colours, but I tend to shy away from them.
I picked up this black longline bomber prior to my trip to France last June. I had been on the hunt for a lightweight jacket that was perfect for travelling. This piece spoke to me because I knew it had endless style capabilities. When you are living out of a suitcase for an extended period of time, it’s great to bring interchangeable outfits. I mean, you can’t pack everything! To ensure your luggage meets the weight allotment, I would definitely recommend trying to travel this way. I know we all want options, and an array of cute Instagram worthy outfits, but if you select a few key staple pieces, you can base a variety of different looks off of it.
So getting back to this black longline bomber! For one it’s comfortable, which is really the most important thing when you are on the go. It’s lined (bonus), and packs down into practically nothing (bigger bonus). Style it over a pair of jeans and fun flats (which I have done here), throw it over a cute dress, or pair it with your favourite joggers and runners for a dressed down, but still chic look. It’s really a great transition piece into spring or fall. A cozy sweater will fit quite nicely under most longline bombers for on a cooler day!
